Centenary Playgroup

Centenary Playgroup is community based and meets every Thursday during school term from 9.15 - 11.15am in the church hall.

Parents/carers/grandparents and their children (ages 0-5 years) are warmly invited to come along and join in the fun for free play, stories, craft, and singing!

The grassed area between the church and the carpark is enclosed by pool fencing with pool gates that are closed during Playgroup sessions so you can be confident your children are safe when playing outside, and a hall space is available for inside play. We have a large selection of indoor and outdoor toys/activities to choose from.

Families must become members of PlayMatters – there is no membership fee to join and there are many useful resources available to members, but most importantly it means you will be covered by their insurance policy.  Join our Facebook group to keep up to date, or click here.

When: Thursdays 9.15 - 11.15, term time.
Where: St Catherine’s Hall, 43 Macfarlane St, Middle Park
Cost: Suggested donation of $4 to cover running costs

St Catherine’s Art Group

Artist Mike Foley

We are a group of people from the church and local community with a shared interest in Art. We use a variety of mediums - acrylic, water colour, and pen and pencil. Some paint botanical art, some draw birds and animals, some like abstracts and we all try our hands at landscapes.

This is not an art lesson as we do not have an art teacher but all are willing to share our knowledge where we can. Feel free to come along and try us out, we have a supply of paper and pencils you can use.

So, if you’d like to share a cuppa and do a little drawing or painting, please join us, we’d love to have your company.

When: Every Friday, 9.00-12.00am
Where: St Catherine’s Hall, 43 Macfarlane St, Middle Park
Cost: $7 to cover hall hire

Men’s Fellowship

Men's Fellowship is an outreach arm of St Catherine's Anglican Church. As a group of Christian men our objectives are as follows:

  1. to encourage fellowship amongst men within the parish and the wider community,

  2. to support men within the parish,

  3. to welcome new men into the life of the parish,

  4. to support the parish in special activities which may arise, and

  5. to promote Christian principles and ethics in the community and provide the opportunity for discussion of such matters and other issues specifically affecting men.

We meet monthly with alternating models:
Every second month we have a speaker and attendance is open to all. We gather at 6.30pm for a 7pm dinner service. The speaker starts at 8pm and the night wraps up around 9pm. The alternate month is reserved solely for men to meet. Arriving 11.30am, for a 12noon lunch service, followed by a general meeting to discuss agenda items. The meeting concludes before 2pm.

All are welcome - friends, neighbours. You don't have to be a parishioner to enjoy a night out or attend a luncheon.

When: Every third Tuesday of each month.
Time: Alternates between lunch (11.30 - 2.00) and dinner (6.30-9.00). Confirm with the office.
Where: Hotel Monier, Monier Road, Darra
Donation of $5 requested for ongoing ministry costs.

Contact the office for further information.

St Catherine’s Dining Groups

For some years now, many of St Catherine’s parishioners have participated in “round robin” dinner (or lunch) groups. These provide a great opportunity for us to get to know each other in a relaxed social atmosphere, and as the membership of each group is changed each year, over a few years it is possible to develop a wide circle of friends both old and new.

People who are new to the parish are encouraged to join at any time through the year. We are sure to be able to find a place for you among our groups, and you can be sure that you will be made to feel most welcome.

People in groups of 6 or 8 meet in each other’s homes (or dine at a restaurant) at a time and date convenient to the group. So why not join us in this happy band of diners; enjoy good food and great company while making new friends or cementing long standing friendships. If you would like to participate in this very rewarding activity, please contact the parish office.
