Do you know why Holy Thursday is also known as Maundy Thursday?
Maundy comes from the word "mandatum" meaning commandment. It is the day that Jesus gave the disciples a "new commandment" to love one another as Jesus has loved them.
On Maundy Thursday we gather for a light meal and we wash each others' feet (or hands) as a symbol of loving service to each other, just as Jesus washed the feet of the disciples in the gospel of John.
We hope to see you there.
